SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Records & Info Mgmt Specialist position will perform specialized duties associated with maintaining and archiving vital construction records and drawings. This position assists the Engineering Archives team with digitizing and maintaining historical railroad design documents, managing and maintaining those documents within an electronic storage system, and integrating curated document sets into Amtrak's GIS Asset Map. The Engineering Archives team is part of the Planning and Engineering Support group with the Engineering Services department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with imaging, reviewing, and digitally repairing historical design drawings. Prepare close-out construction documents for electronic indexing and archiving. Curate archived drawing and document sets for integration onto Amtrak's GIS Asset Map. Assist with preliminary research across multi-disciplinary engineering databases for archived construction drawings, correspondence. Assist with reporting requirements within required timelines. Ensure all digital and physical documents within the Archives are maintained according to strict preservation policies and guidelines. Support the Engineering Archives and Engineering Support team leadership as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archiving, Digital Technology or related field. 2+ of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience is needed

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Pro, Lightroom and Photoshop. Detail-oriented with constructive problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. Ability to work under time constraints with hard deadlines Ability to multitask and prioritize heavy workloads Good organizational and communication skills. Desire to learn or further develop knowledge about the railroad industry. Quickly understands and uses processes and technologies that are continually being updated. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with construction design documents and processes. Knowledge of DAM (Document Asset Management) Systems Basic understanding of railroad infrastructure and/or terminology.

WORK ENVRIORNMENT: Hybrid main office and work from home. Railroad right-of-way and/or project site visits may be required occasionally for short durations, based on department and/or specific project need.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $65,500-$84,888. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay dif erential to be applied to the employee's base salary.
