Job Description

Our Life Sciences team in North America helps our clients in the sector to deliver future-ready assets and achieve better outcomes on Real Estate construction projects of all sizes. We support with delivery that is not only faster, cheaper, and greener, but also digitally enabled and more controlled.

We support our clients across the full spectrum of the life sciences sector including manufacturing, research and development (labs), logistics / warehousing and commercial offices.

Reporting directly to the North America Vice President for Life Sciences, the Project Controls Director will be based in close proximity to Philadelphia and will serve as a market leader for that geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth in the sector with a particular focus on large scale major projects and programs within the manufacturing side of our clients’ portfolios. The appointed lead will also be responsible for service quality, the hiring and nurturing of key talent required to deliver our services, and the conversion of major opportunities.

  • Market offer – contributing to the ongoing development of major project and programs offer for project controls, including service approaches, best practices, etc.

  • Strategy – leading the development and execution of major projects and programs growth strategies within the life sciences sector.

  • Opportunities – leading major project and program pursuits in the local market.

  • Execution – serve as a project director / leader of our service on new commissions.

  • Capability development – lead the development and nurturing of talent, in line with strategy and opportunities.

  • Partnerships – leading on development of strategic industry partnerships to enable opportunities, proposition, and delivery.

  • Assurance – development of core assurance methodology associated with the projects in the local market.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level with professional chartership (e.g. MCIOB, MRICS).

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to establish robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to access and influence key decision makers within clients, regulatory bodies, and government.

  • Strategically minded with a considered and consistent approach to decision-making.

  • Ability to serve in the capacity of a ‘doer / leader’ – someone who can deliver the service whilst growing talent and the pipeline locally.

  • Likely to have 15 years plus construction industry experience from a scheduling or cost engineering background, with a proven track record in successfully delivering major projects and programs.

  • Minimum of 5 years working in the life sciences sector.

  • Experience of working within both client and consultant environments an advantage.

  • Preference for US experience with an ability to work in multi-cultural environments.

  • Experience working with global accounts and supporting the growth of those relationships.
