Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician with at least 2 years of retail pharmacy or customer service pharmacy experience. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hospital experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting, providing a chance to learn about the day-to-day operations of a large hospital system. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to start working while obtaining their National Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate deliveries and pickups via phone throughout the work period.

  • Provide timely communication to the Pharmacist for checking and general activities, including proper customer service, patient/employee safety, operational/schedule needs, and inventory control.

  • Recognize common drug names, and select the proper drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity for review by the Pharmacist.

  • Maintain proficiency in all Pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing cabinet software and systems, and all technical equipment required to perform duties.

  • Perform basic office environment tasks.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of retail pharmacy technician experience or customer service pharmacy experience.

  • 2+ years of billing and claims/Patient Service experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required

  • Comfortable on the phones.

  • Previous delivery coordination and claims/billing experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel.

  • Proficiency in all Pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing cabinet software and systems, and all technical equipment required to perform duties.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.

  • Customer service and communication skills.

Work Environment

You will be working within a closed-door Outpatient Pharmacy within a hospital system. Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm. No weekends or holidays are required. The position includes holiday pay and sick pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
