Summary:

  • The Nursing Clinical Coordinator actively participates in a collaborative/consultative/supportive role with the Chief Nursing Officer and Clinical Directors to assure efficient patient flow and quality patient care. Nursing Clinical Coordinator also works collaboratively with the Bed Management RN and the Nursing Administrative Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates patient flow and efficient/appropriate patient placements. Supports use of the NaviCare tool in communicating tentative and finalized pending discharges/transfers, EVS requests, bed requests, bed assignments, hallmarks and other functions. Identifies, problem-solves, communicates and delegates to facilitate patient flow and NaviCare system maintenance.Directs, supervises, evaluates and supports patient care activities; serves as a resource to staff nurses and other department(s) personnel on clinical practice and is a resource for implementation/ interpretation of hospital and nursing policies and procedures.Promotes excellence in departmental programs/projects on the off-shifts and supports ongoing educational activities.Coordinates staffing of the inpatient units and the emergency department on a day-to-day basis with the staff in the Nursing Network Center. With guidance from the Nursing Administrative Coordinator, he/she assumes full responsibility for staffing functions from 1600 - 0700 hours, Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays, including making software (computer) and operational adjustments to projected staffing for levels of care, staffing guidelines, low census, sick calls and staff competency. Follows fiscal and Human Resources policies in determining staff utilization and distribution.Primary nursing responder in the Rapid Response Service.Promotes system and individual approaches to care, which ensure patient satisfaction.

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

  • Registered Nurse - PA (Required)

  • 3 yrs Critical Care RN experience

  • Supervisory experience preferred

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization: Nursing
