Confidential Employer Material Demand Planner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Philadelphia, PA is hiring a Material Demand Planner.  The Material Demand Planner is responsible for overseeing inventory planning across the supply chain network which includes developing, coordinating and managing materials to deliver on project demand plans for the packaging and labeling operation. This individual needs to have the capability to balance competing goals of inventory targets, customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and safety stock requirements for which he or she is assigned. This person is the key liaison to resolve supply issues and ensures the efficient delivery of inventory, service and cost objectives to ensure maximum utilization of packaging and labeling operations. This role will identify ways to improve supply planning processes by utilizing current tools and systems. In addition, this person is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all purchase order data to support accurate lead times and inventory quantities. This person works closely and effectively across the organization matrix (Project Management, Quality Assurance, Production) to ensure project materials are ordered, received and released for on time project initiation.

 

This is a full-time role: Monday -- Friday, days.

This 206,878 square-foot facility, located in the Philadelphia area is Catalent's global Center of Excellence for Clinical Supply Packaging.  Catalent offers GMP secondary packaging and clinical labeling services throughout our global network. Packaging can be configured to hold a single product or multiple products as determined by study requirements. We offer manual patient kit assembly along with semi-automated and automated wallet sealing and high-speed automated carding to meet the needs of studies of all sizes. For temperature sensitive products and those with minimal to zero allowable time out of environment, we can perform secondary packaging in refrigerated and frozen packaging rooms or over dry ice depending upon your project needs.  Using our Clinicopia global labeling system with its multi-lingual label phrase library we can design single panel, booklet labels or our unique Peel-ID™ safe storage labels for your studies. Single panel and Peel-ID™ safe storage labels can be conveniently reviewed and approved online via our Fusion portal before being printed and inspected at our facilities.

The Role

  • Responsible for maintaining inventories and executing the supply plan to minimize out of stock situations.
  • Responsible for translating clinical protocols into supply strategies and planning in partnership with internal manufacturing organization, project management, and quality assurance to drive a coordinated supply strategy.
  • Proactively use JD Edwards and other tools to review inventory quantities, projections & supply-demand summaries to prevent potential shortages or excessive inventory.
  • Maximize utilization of packaging and labeling by ensuring timely receipt, release and availability of materials for production use.
  • Monitors inventory levels and make suggestions on inventory parameters (e.g. safety stock, forecast, etc.).
  • Identifies and manages potential inventory obsolescence to minimize aged inventory and eventual write-offs.
  • Tracks and reconciles weekly/monthly metrics versus established targets.
  • Responsible for maintaining into stock performance, if approaching out of stock situation, provides options to customer service to remedy situ tion.
  • Assesses impact of supply chain and client requirements and proposes resolution.
  • Communicates decisions to individual teams affected by supply changes and works effectively with vendors to minimize impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

     

The Candidate

  • High school diploma or general education diploma is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or scientific related discipline is preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience is required.
  • 2 years planning or project management experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a material requirements planning (MRP) environment is required.
  • Experience with Excel and other similar databases recommended.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification and/or a Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus.
