This position manages and directs experienced professionals of specialty engineering developing complex engineering solutions. Must possess extensive knowledge of one or more specialty engineering disciplines such as Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Component engineering, and Technical Writing. Tasks include development and maintenance of ILS, Component Engineering, and Technical Writing procedures and tools for ensuring support of the customer’s long term Product Support Strategy. Provides technical guidance and leadership to subordinate engineers. Maintains proper staffing levels and expertise to meet business objectives. Develops and conducts programs in accordance with company policies, priorities and budget constraints. Manages and/or develops budgets for assigned function or department, including operating requirements, training, and equipment and material purchases. Provides technical oversight and assistance to other departments as required.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining an ILS process to include reliability, availability, and maintainability as well as long term customer support strategy.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a parts standardization program which will provide design engineers guidelines for selection of parts and materials. Participate in all stages of development from design through manufacturing support and system integration.
Develop and sustain a pro-active obsolescence process to ensure long term sustainability of fielded products.
Performing analysis of the specification of design parameters for sustainment related system performance capabilities.
Ensures application of systems engineering to determine the right balance between the system's design requirements and the logistics support requirements to sustain the operational capabilities at an affordable price, including application of sustainment metrics.
Supports the planning for, resourcing, and executing the design, acquisition, management, and fielding an integrated product support package to sustain the maintenance and support concepts that meet the material availability requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field and a minimum 9 years prior related experience. Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent communication and management skills are required, as well as the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
Proficiency in using Excel and LCC modeling tools desired.
Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group.
Results oriented – experience with quick react contracts preferred.
Demonstrated organizational skills with a process focus.
Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions among functional groups (Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering and others) is a key success factor.
Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills demonstrated by related work experience.
Solid coordination skills, organization skills, and detail orientation.
Understanding and familiarity with information security practices.
