Job Description

We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our team who is detail orientated and self-motivated with the passion to learn and improve skills and knowledge. Team and project orientated while taking ownership of issues are key. This person should be able to interact with other teams within IT and across various lines of business to deliver appropriate services and solutions. Responsible for Linux Server architecture and design, monitoring, security, and patching of Linux Operating Systems. Experience with Red Hat Linux, Oracle Linux, Oracle Virtualization, VMware, Ansible, and Satellite/OSMH is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation, update, maintenance, and security of Linux systems and related subsystems, ensuring that the software is maintained at the desired release level.

• Ensures maximum availability of Linux System resources and Virtual environments to users and production applications.

• Provide troubleshooting and analysis for reported hardware and software issues.

• Assist in the engineering of Systems Admin related solutions for various projects and operational needs.

• Provide off-hours support on a rotational basis and weekend maintenance when required.

• Assist in the implementation of software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes to maintain a secure environment.

• Assist in the analysis of current systems software, proposed modifications, and new software. Propose improvements in areas of need.

• Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop, improve, and deploy standards and procedures.

• Assist with Disaster Recovery of Linux servers and Virtual environments in secondary Data Centers.

• Provide administration of cloud-based platforms like RunMyJobs, Tripwire and Axway.

• Assist in the evaluation and selection of software and hardware related to Linux technology.

Qualifications

• This position requires formal training and at least four years? experience in Server Administration on a Linux/Unix server platform.

• Current in-depth knowledge of server hardware and related software preferred.

• A four-year college degree (preferably in computer science or engineering) is also preferred.

• Should have strong problem solving, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
