The Wistar Institute of Anatomy & Biology Lab-Tempera - Biomedical Research Technician (BRT) Apprentice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Fox Biomedical Research Technician (BRT) Apprentice in the laboratory of Dr. Italo Tempera.

The BRT Apprentice's responsibilities can include:

  • Conducting experiments in molecular and cellular biology, genetic engineering, macromolecule (DNA, RNA, protein) isolation, purification, identification, and imaging techniques among others.
  • Facilitating data analyses of experimental outcomes.
  • Supporting lab management by monitoring and providing lab resources and supplies, including ordering necessary reagents, preparing daily solutions, and ensuring that experiments can be completed.
  • Assisting with in-lab organization of data so that records are maintained, easily located and available as needed.

Education requirements: High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in biology or similar discipline preferred.  

Successful completion of the Biomedical Technician Training (BTT) Pre-apprenticeship Program or equivalent Laboratory experience is a prerequisite for this position.
