Penn Medicine is seeking a part-time inpatient clinical pharmacy intern for day/evening shift rotation at Penn Rittenhouse located at 1800 Lombard Street in Philadelphia.

This position is every other weekend and includes 1 winter plus 1 summer holiday along with rotations for the MLK Day and Juneteenth holidays. The shifts are variable rotation through day and afternoon shifts.

Summary of Accountabilities: Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Intern is responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks: assisting in the preparation and filling of medication orders and medication carts; compounding sterile and non-sterile preparation; distributing medication to patients; performing nursing unit QA inspections; maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital.

Education/Licensure

  • Licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern within 1 year of hire (required)

  • High school graduate or equivalent with course work in the sciences (required)

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy (required)
