About the role

Category Manager - Contractor Service 25% Travel required

Scope: Reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing, Global Category Management, this position will lead the strategic sourcing activities for Contractor Services across all Reworld facilities in North America. The Category Manager's primary responsibility is to develop sourcing strategies for maintenance, outage, and other professional services, as part of the Contractor Services Category, to maximize value and deliver Reworld a long-term competitive advantage.

The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders within corporate and regionally to develop and implement effective cost reduction strategies, risk mitigation, and change management plans. The Category Manager will utilize strategic sourcing best practices to capture real savings while making effective supply base decisions. This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company-wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial total cost of ownership levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize strategic procurement goals and objectives. Responsible and accountable to business stakeholders to deliver and implement strategic sourcing strategies across the assigned Contractor Services category with an annual spend of approximately $75M. Develop and implement strategies that optimize total cost of ownership year-over-year for assigned spend categories that achieve stated savings goals and targets. Develop and implement regional Category sourcing strategies and interact with regional Procurement and Operations teams to ensure alignment on key processes and strategy. Develop negotiation strategies that drive stated savings goals and objectives. Work with regional and business unit leadership to monitor and ensure contract compliance as well as procurement policies and processes. Manage supplier development and relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company. Participate in cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to drive procurement efficiency and effectiveness. This Category Manager will also be expected to contribute to the broader Strategic Sourcing and supply management agenda leading process improvement and best practice conceptualization and deployment. The Category Manager should demonstrate the right values and behaviors with high emotional intelligence in working with a large and disbursed stakeholder base - often on critical schedule projects. You will interface with project "owners" across the company to budget, plan, prioritize and execute the work from a strategic sourcing perspective. Th s role will be based within or near one of Reworld' s facilities with travel expected up to 25%.

Location Eastern united states near a major transportation hub.

Responsibilities: In this critical role, you will take an active leadership role in delivering procurement's contribution to engineering and construction of new plants, and capital projects at existing facilities; communicate delivery of plans to leaders at all levels of the Company. Selected Accountabilities include: Interface with project managers, project engineers, maintenance, and other stakeholders . Maintain and update and Acceptable Contractor List (ACL). Work with Corporate and Site Maintenance and Operations to assess current Contractors and potential new Contractors, qualifying on a technical and commercial basis. Develop and maintain a category strategy and execution plan and compliance program to include Request for Information, RFPs, bid clarification and normalization, coordination of bid evaluations and recommendation for award. . Effectively manage supplier relationships to optimize service, quality, cost, and contract compliances. Track and manage strategic sourcing KPIs that drives Reworld sourcing to achieve "world class" excellence. Drive process improvement initiatives - instituting best practices guided by an effective change management process (MoC) that delivers benchmark return on investment (ROI). Ensure savings initiatives spanning cost reduction, cost avoidance, revenue enhancement, rebates, working capital, etc. are accurately documented, reviewed, reported and transferred to the appropriate budgets.

Position Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Engineering is required. MBA is preferred. CPSM is advantageous.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive contracts experience with focus on mechanical and fabricated parts and/or capital construction contracts experience. Ideally supply chain experience is preferred.

Global procurement experience highly desired. Proficiency in using PeopleSoft ERP (or SAP) and Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Solid understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, contracts, and change management.
