A Brief Overview This position, drawing on their experience of serving as a Genetic Counselor, will co-direct the day-to-day operations of the Genetic Counseling Program(s).

Responsibilities will include provision of customer service, develop education and outreach materials, develop and implement consent forms and oversee consent procedures, coordinate allied research enrollment, optimize clinical billing (visit and test billing/ reimbursement), as well as genetic counseling billing for services, develop phenotype measure tools, and provide a seamless interface with the diagnostic laboratories. This position will also be responsible for licensing, compliance, and completing annual reviews of the Genetic Counselor(s), and other support staff, with input from the Medical Director.

What you will do Experienced Genetic Counselors will be needed to help manage the day-to-day operations. The position will oversee genetic counselors and other support staff to insure proper test ordering and clinical flow (scheduling, registration, and insurance authorizations). clinic assignments and test ordering practices. The position will collaborate in leading efforts to create consent documents for genetic testing, which will require liaison with the hospital legal team, and understanding all National and Hospital regulations for genetic testing. The position will monitor the consent procedures in clinical settings. Lead the various efforts regarding integrating phenotypic, genetic and genetic diagnostic information into the electronic health record (EHR) for patients; this may be program-specific Provide Genetic Counseling services to patients along with coordinating genetic testing ordering, result return, and follow-up care recommendations. Evaluate and ensure proper billing structures are developed and set-up to adequately address the ideal clinical flow of a Center or Program, while utilizing the program's Genetic Counselors most efficiently. Partnering with the CHCA Billing and Compliance team to implement new strategies and monitoring reimbursement trends. Partner with the Public Relations and Learning Services Departments to produce education materials and disseminate them appropriately. This role will also be actively engaged in maintaining the external and internal (intranet) web presence. Actively coordinate allied research activities and involvement in IRB submissions and time and effort reporting. Partner with the Systems Director of Genetic Counseling at CHOP for various programmatic, clinical care pathway, genetic testing, administrative and professional activities related to genetic counselor roles

Education Qualifications Master's Degree Genetic Counseling or Human Genetics Required

Experience Qualifications At least five (5) years experience as an independent genetic counselor. Required prior experience with clinical d ta or research data Preferred prior experience leading one core process for a clinical, clinical laboratory or research process Preferred

Skills and Abilities Recognized as a point-of-contact for a specialized patient population. Sought out to provide outreach and education. Published on posters/ abstracts/ publications. Present cases at rounds, or other conferences. Provides clinical education and mentorship to Genetic Counseling graduate students. Involvement with limited research administrative functions (IRB submissions, time and effort reporting). Demonstrated ability in counseling, skills, techniques and other related areas. Subject to pressure related and/or emergency clinical problems. Must have a high degree of flexibility of skills and hours.

Licenses and Certifications Certified Genetics Counselor - American Board of Genetic Counselors - upon hire - Required and Licensed Genetics Counselor - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required and Licensed Genetics Counselor - New Jersey State Licensing Board - - Preferred
