Overview

Carollo Engineers is a internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to support our vision of becoming the best water consulting firm.

The successful candidate will be highly-motivated and a self-starter and will play a key role in design of municipal water and wastewater facilities, including but not limited to treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and linear infrastructure rehabilitation and replacement.

Responsibilities

• Performing engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure

• Work on engineering planning and design projects

• Prepare reports

• Develop plans and specifications

• Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects

• System modeling

• Permitting and alternative analysis

• Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables

• Data entry and analysis

• Provide engineering services during construction

• Perform field activities such as pilot testing, construction phase observations, design phase field measurements, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or other similar Engineering field

• Minimum academic requirements include coursework in unit processes (e.g. physical, chemical, and biological); hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design

• 0 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering

• Engineer-in-Training Certification

• Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Work well in a team environment

• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting

• Proficient in MS Word and Excel

• Ability to travel to job sites for field activities on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and/or water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (e.g. WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)
