University of Pennsylvania Director of the Center for Research on Reproduction and Women’s Health – Standing Faculty in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for the position of Director of the Center for Research on Reproduction and Women's Health (CRRWH) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative academic leader to direct the CRRWH and coordinate research and teaching activities of the Center with other Departments, Centers and Institutes within and outside Penn.

The CRRWH is an interdisciplinary research center across many Departments and Schools at the University of Pennsylvania with endowments and a current total extramural sponsored projects annual budget of approximately $18 million. The Center’s focus is on improving reproductive and women's health through team science and advancing these fields through (1) research, (2) research training, (3) local and global partnerships, and (4) through equity-centered studies of gender-specific biology and female-specific health and disease across the lifespan.

The primary appointment of the selected candidate will be in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with potential secondary appointments in other departments depending on research interests. Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding qualifications and track record in research scholarship commensurate with an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure at the University of Pennsylvania.

Research or scholarship interests should include basic/translational, clinical or health services research relevant to reproduction or women’s health. Collaborative science is highly valued. Applicants should have an established research program and an outstanding record of publications and research grant support. Securing grants in this position is required. Teaching responsibilities of the position may include instructing and supervising medical students, residents and post-doctoral fellows, and designing or participating in a formal didactic curriculum.

Clinical responsibilities, although not required, may include inpatient and/or ambulatory care in obstetrics and gynecology or a subspecialty of Ob/Gyn depending on the candidate’s expertise and interests.
