We are currently seeking to fill our Director of Strategic Finance and Budget position at the Philadelphia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

The Director of Budget and Strategic Finance (Director) is responsible for comprehensive analyses, projections, and modeling relating to business operations. This role utilizes a quantitative skill set to improve the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's (PCOM) operational and financial structure.The Director will conduct an analysis of financial data while preparing subsequent narratives for management, helping guide recommendations. In this capacity, the role develops detailed financial models to help reduce cycle times for annual budgeting, cost projections, and reporting. It will lead the annual budgeting process by collaborating with relevant departments to effectively review their recommendations while adhering to the PCOM's overall fiscal guidelines. It will also serve to support managers in the areas of labor budgets, financial communications, and detailed reporting.In addition, this Director of Budget and Strategic Finance will oversee the grant accounting department and the capital plant ledger. Essential functions *Manages, coaches, motivates, and directs department staff. *Leads PCOM's annual budgeting process. *Works with complex data sets and analytics tools in support of the College strategic plan, multiyear financial plan, and key performance metrics. *Assists in the coordination and implementation of new technology and/or technology enhancements to improve business processes. *Develops advanced business and financial models. *Analyzes budget changes to ensure budgets reconcile to approved increases/decreases and result in a balanced budget. *Analyzes financial data and develops moderately complex reports for forecasting and analysis. *Manages and oversees the monthly budget to actual reporting and works with stakeholders to understand variances. *Responsible for the capital plant ledger *Manages and oversees grant reporting including: managing and coordinating the cost component of proposals and grant application development, pre-award, and post-award processes and ongoing budget monitoring for funded awards *Works collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the PCOM community *Prepares and analyzes the viabili y of new programs, ventures, etc. *Works collaboratively with human resources on position control and benefits costs. *Works collaboratively with the Director of Finance *Manages, coaches, evaluates, monitors, and administers programs, processes, budget, goals, and objectives for department. *Performs related duties as assigned. Work environment Office Setting Physical demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% Need to occasionally move about inside and outside the office to access files, office equipment, and attend meetings/training across campuses 50% Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment 75% Constantly communicates information and ideas, so others will understand.Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 75% Must have the ability to observe details at close range (computer and other training materials) 50% Occasionally moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various classrooms and events 25% Travel required Works out of one location but travels to other campus locations, meetings, training, and other events approximately 10%. Required education and experience A minimum of 8 years of accounting and budgeting experience is required. Supervisory experience is required Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Master's Degree and/or Certified Public Accountant Preferred Higher education experience is preferred Experience managing U.S. Government Federal awards, desirable but not required Experience working with grant research teams, is desirable but not required Good communication skills Strong leadership qualities Excellent interpersonal skills Compliance oriented Analytical skills

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
