Overview
We are seeking a Director of Data Architecture role to join our growing analytics capability (ARIS) at INSAGIC. The Director of Data Architecture is responsible for defining information management and analytical needs, data architecture requirements, solution design, delivery, quality assurance functions, along with initial build, ongoing management, maintenance, documentation and expansion of the data and information management infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* *Keeping Things Running **
Managing data coming in and making sure it's ingested and integrated smoothly.
Managing data coming out securely ensuring efficient process flow.
Ensuring that data sources are regularly refreshed in a timely manner.
Troubleshooting data related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies.
Taking care of routine tasks like optimizing databases and ensuring security.
Assisting with ad hoc requests.
* *Making Processes Smoother and Automating Tasks **
Finding ways to speed up data processing and make things more efficient.
Automating repetitive tasks to save time and reduce errors.
Making sure our data stays consistent and accurate.
Setting up systems to handle routine tasks without needing constant oversight.
* *Ensuring Data Quality **
Setting up checks to catch any errors and keep our data accurate.
Cleaning up data and making sure everything is in order.
* *Following Rules and Regulations **
Making sure our data is handled securely and meets any legal requirements.
Keeping an eye on data quality over time to make sure it stays high.
* *Exploring New Data **
Digging into our data to find new insights and understand what we have.
Checking if our data is good enough for the tasks we need it for.
Qualifications
Key experience/skills for additional Data Architect resource include:
* *Programming Languages **
Strong command of SQL for querying, manipulating, and analyzing databases, including complex joins, subqueries, stored procedures, and window functions.
Proficiency in Python is helpful for data engineering tasks like data manipulation, scripting, and building data pipelines.
* *Database Systems **
Knowledge of various database systems is crucial for designing and optimizing database schemas and queries.
* *ETL/ELT Processes **
Ability to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to extract data from multiple sources, transform it into a usable format, and load it into target systems or data warehouses.
* *Data Warehousing and Data Integration **
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies, including data mart design, star schemas, and data governance principles, as well as data integration techniques for combining data from disparate sources and ensuring data quality and consistency.
* *Data Pipeline Development **
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to automate the flow of data between systems, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and efficiency.
* *Cloud Platforms **
Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, including services like Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, for scalable and cost-effective data storage, processing, and integration.
* *Data Quality Assurance, Problem-Solving, and Troubleshooting Skills **
Understanding of data quality best practices and techniques for data validation, cleansing, and enrichment to maintain high-quality data assets.
Ability to analyze complex data-related problems, identify root causes, and develop solutions to address them effectively.
Capability to diagnose and resolve data engineering issues efficiently, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and system failures, to ensure continuous data pipeline operation and reliability.
* *Communication and Collaboration **
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, translate technical concepts into non-technical terms, and document data engineering processes and solutions.
Additional information
Compensation Range: $132,715 - $190,680 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
