NBC10 Philadelphia is in search of a digital content producer to help cover local news across
our suite of platforms, including NBC10.com, the NBC10 app, our 24/7 streaming channel, OTT
apps, and social media platforms.
This person will be responsible for ensuring our digital platforms have the latest news and
weather information and analysis. They will work to develop programming for our streaming and
digital platforms, working closely with broadcast reporters and producers.
A successful candidate will possess the skills necessary to:
Use all social, multimedia and digital tools to grow our audience
Report and write news stories for our website and mobile app
Edit and produce digital and streaming video content
Share related content on, and manage operations of, social media platforms
Edit, and produce and create digital video taken from broadcast and other platforms
Identify noteworthy stories of the day and engage our local audience across platforms
Stay on the cutting edge of trends and innovation, including OTT and FAST channels
Monitor news sources and social media for story ideas
Engage with viewers and sources who reach out through social media
Coordinate with the national digital team and other NBCUniversal Local stations to ensure best practices
Manage digital communication with newsroom
A successful candidate will also have the following qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Ability to multitask on a breaking news story, including gathering social assets, sending breaking news alerts, and communicating with the newsroom
Minimum of 3 years experience working in a multi-platform environment and writing/producing content at a news organization (print, online or television)
Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms (such as X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok)
Knowledge of broadcast, digital writing, and AP style
Experience with video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere
Excellent news instincts with the ability to react decisively to breaking news
Ability to work on multiple tasks and stories simultaneously with a team player mentality
Eligibility Requirements
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends & holidays
Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
