Position:Day Camp Coordinator Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA Availability:Accepting resumes now Schedule:Seasonal 40 hours, M-F (June 10– August 9, 2024) Reporting Relationship:After School and Day Camp Manager Grade:$17.09 Per hour

Responsibilities

Position Description:The Day Camp Coordinator will assist the After School and Day Camp Manager with Creative oversight and direction with every aspect of the daily Summer Day Camp program, as well as be involved with staff orientation and supervision. The Day Camp Coordinator will also provide assistance to the Teen Development Summer Program when needed. The Day Camp Coordinator will interact with parents and campers and must possess the ability and desire to work side-by-side with them for an exceptional experience of spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual enhancement while in our care. The Day Camp Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:Completed Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a related field focusing on child/youth development and education. At least two seasons of supervisory experience in directing similar programs (whether as a Counselor or Group Supervisor). Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. This role requires the ability to work and relate well with both staff and camper parents/guardians; must have a positive attitude toward helping and fostering children in their development. Since this is a Christian Day Camp program, must profess a faith in Christ and desire to serve Him. Ability to develop and maintain a directed schedule, along with the ability to lead a group of children and staff, both large and small. This position must be responsive, detail oriented, flexible, creative and have the ability to see projects through to completion. Flexibility! Enthusiasm! High energy! Maintain a standard of excellent and possess the ability to work well under supervision. Must foster a spirit of compassion and commitment to the children that participate in the Day Camp program. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must complete a medical form and have current CPR and First-aid certification by first day of work. Must possess an appreciation for and understanding of The Mission of The Salvation.
