A Brief Overview Assists with tactical aspects of maintaining existing Environmental Health and Safety construction programs, including education, drills, compliance audits and inspections, collating data and preparing reports. The Construction Safety Inspector is generally an entry-level position that is further developed by senior team members in the department.

What you will do Supports the Interim Life Safety Measures and Construction Safety programs by conducting contractor safety training, participating in construction hazard surveillance rounds, audits and inspections, drills, collecting data, tracking data and preparing reports. Verifies contractors have proper documentation including pre-construction plans, permits, and valid Green Security identification. Conducts hot work inspections, providing in the moment feedback and generates data reports to support continuous improvement. Supports the culture of safety with internal and external staff working in construction, renovation, or maintenance capacities. Gathers data, field reports, and incident investigation data for the Interim Life Safety Committee meetings. Maintains continuing education for certifications which includes professional training and development. Acts as a Culture of Safety Champion; verifying that contractors, CHOP Facilities and vendor behaviors on campus comply with CHOP Safety Culture Standards including ICARE values. Participates as a Utility Interruption Committee Member: reviews utility interruptions to identify any safety requirements for staff, contractors, CHOP Facilities, impacts to the environment. Supports the Dust Trak Program by maintaining Dust Trak equipment, collecting data, data consolidation, and preparing reports, and escalating concerns. Supports the Infection Control Risk Assessment program by conducting air monitoring, inspecting construction barriers, collecting and tracking data. Supports the Hazard Communication Program by conducting and reviewing departmental chemical inventories (including construction). Also will conduct audits of departmental chemical inventories (including construction). Supports the Hospital's Environment of Care rounds program by participating in rounding, tracking data and generating reports. Participates in hazardous chemical spill responses and fire alarm activation response. Participates in departmental activities, including on-call, hazardous chemical spill response, Bioresponse team activations, environment of care rounds, and emergent event responses.
