This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & Team Overview

The Connected Living team is driving a key transformation at Comcast - to make the Xfinity App the way our 30 million+ customers interact with Xfinity. The Xfinity App is the digital destination for our customers to enjoy the power of our products and experience effortless service and support.  The Connected Living team develops and manages the Xfinity App as part of our mission to deliver a powerful and simple connectivity experience.   

The Intern participant will join the App Strategy & Engagement team which aims to leverage the Xfinity App to build a relationship with customers from the moment they choose Xfinity for their connectivity and wireless needs. This team is responsible for engaging Xfinity customers in-app from onboarding through product value discovery and ultimately, growth of the relationship. The team consists of product managers who engage with engineering, design, marketing, and various business stakeholders to build compelling and engaging digital experiences.

Role Description

Are you passionate about digital media, entertainment, and software services? Do you like big challenges and working within a highly motivated team environment? As a Product Intern on the Connected Living Xfinity App team, you will gain first-hand experience launching digital experiences to 10M+ monthly active users, from initial ideation through delivery and optimization. This role will engage with engineers, designers, and various business stakeholders to launch new content, create compelling experiences, and drive customer and business value.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will work with various stakeholders to bring key moments to life in the Xfinity app. These moments include large tentpole events like the Olympics, marketing moments like the new iPhone launch purchase experience, or awareness moments like our new Wifi Motion home security product. As the destination for existing users, all big moments are featured in the Xfinity app, and this role will contribute to launching them.

Where can this student make an impact?

Success in this role is characterized by a higher speed to market for major initiatives, and improving experiences via analysis, research, and optimization suggestions. This student will impact the entire SDLC of various merchandising initiatives in the app. The big initial project will be introducing more entertainment content into the Xfinity app, which will involve working with stakeholders across the business to determine, build, and deploy the best in-app entertainment minimal-viable product (MVP).

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day support for execution of new merchandising strategies, including personalization targeting, content support, and post-launch analysis.

  • Review internal research conducted to date, initial business case, and initial merchandising and in-app commerce results to draw insights and inform a strategy recommendation. 

  • Review and assess existing merchandising strategy to make a recommendation for future enhancements.

  • Data-driven analysis of current merchandising and web-buy flows experiences to forecast expected sales and engagement impact for new features

  • Stakeholder interviews with key partners in Comcast to determine key considerations for our merchandising and in-app commerce strategy. 

  • Review and assessment of competitor and/or other merchandising and in-app commerce experiences to draw “best practices” insight and inform future strategy.  

  • Facilitation of Discovery working meetings with Design, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders. 

  • Review of our existing merchandising capabilities and external assessment resulting in a recommendation for how we can continue innovating our merchandising toolkit. 

  • Prepares and reports recommendation and insights as a final artifact of their internship experience

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • Creative, business-minded, critical thinker with a passion for innovating digital experiences or products 

  • Curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo in a collaborative way 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on collaboration

  • Strong quantitative background a plus - analysis and forecasting will be part of the role, and knowledge of/experience withSDLC wouldbe a benefit when engaging w/ dev teams

  • Preferred Majors: Finance, Computer Science, Marketing, Statistics, Business

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)

  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)

  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Salary:

Base Pay: $32.00
