As the Accounts Payable Specialist your duties will include but aren't limited too:

• Analyzing, verifying, and reconciling accounts payable records

• Participating in operational activities using automated financial and procurement systems

• Maintaining and analyzing automated data

• Coordinating with various departments for accounts payable matters

• Reviewing vendor close out packages for accuracy and ensuring timely payments

• Providing technical advice on accounts payable activities when needed

• Adhering to all relevant guidelines in the payment of invoices to vendors and suppliers

• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information

• Utilizing standard and specialized software for financial tasks, including Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft

• Applying knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles for public sector financial administration

• Managing record keeping and records management according to Public Housing standards, including Line of Credit Control System (LOCCS)

• Interacting with diverse individuals and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers.

Requirements

The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.

• Proficient in Account Coding procedures.

• Skilled in using Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must.

• Proficiency in Concur software.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Solid understanding of basic Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) management.

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles.

• Experience in Auditing processes.

• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
