Job Title/Position: Technician, Maintenance Department/School: Maintenance Pay Information: Auxiliary Compensation Plan Supervised By: Maintenance Supervisor FLSA: Non-Exempt Date Revised: July 2022
Primary Purpose:Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and equipment throughout the District.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written directions; ability to read, write, understand and communicate sufficiently to perform the essentialfunctions of the position, one year related experience, and a valid Texas drivers license able to qualify as a driver under the districts insurance carrier whendriving a district vehicle.
Major Responsibilities:1. Repair and maintain district facilities including repairing woodwork, replacing broken glass, painting, installing ceiling and flooring materialsand replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems.2. Inspect, detect, report, and perform needed repairs and maintenance on building exterior and interior, including playground equipment.3. Safely climb ladders and operate lifts and work in hot, cold, and wet conditions and work in high elevation rooftops.Special projects include, but are not limited to the following:4. Playground maintenance and regular inspections.5. Masonry work to include rock/brick on flowerbeds, retaining walls, sidewalk slabs and concrete removal.6. Bleacher repair, removal or new installation.7. Repair major water leaks to main water lines affecting schools.8. Portable removal, miscellaneous carpentry work, handicap ramp installation/repair, etc.9. Vehicle and trailer service as required, including painting trailers.10. Installation of drainage pipes, where needed.11. Welding.12. Scoreboard removal.13. Follow Educator Code of Conduct and all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:? Knowledge of established safety procedures and techniques? Knowledge of maintenance, repair and construction techniques and procedures? Knowledge of building maintenance techniques and procedures? Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines and procedures? Must maintain regular and reliable attendance? Must be able to work long hours and on weekends, as needed? Skill in working in a collaborative, team-based environment

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):Repetitive hand motions; exposure daily to possible adverse weather elements for extended periods of time; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/orcarry at least 50 lbs, 50 lbs or more with assistance.
