GE Vernova Project Management Associate in Peterborough, Ontario

Job Description Summary

As part of GE Vernova’s Power Conversion - Rotating Machines Peterborough (GEPR Energy Canada Inc.), you will play a significant role in our Renewal Parts team to serve our customers by providing comprehensive project management support.

We have been producing rotating electrical equipment for 130+ years, and our scope covers a global fleet of GE Large AC and DC Motors and Generators operating in various industrial and power generation sectors such as marine, metals, mining, nuclear & hydro, oil & gas, and pulp & paper. To serve our customers, you will actively use your skills and expertise to make key contributions throughout our Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) processes, closely interacting with customers and suppliers all over the world. You will understand their challenges and support them in developing commercial & technical solutions for project fulfillment with Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) control mindset. You will work with our internal commercial, finance, design engineering, sourcing, project management, and Services/Warranty teams as well as our manufacturing suppliers to successfully complete all our Parts projects.

The successful candidate will report to the Rotating Machines Renewal Parts Team Leader.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

The Renewal Parts PMA will be responsible for any combination of following activities & tasks depending on business needs.

  1. General Project Management Support
  • Provide overall project support and work with multiple person OTR matrix teams including Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, Finance and Services teams.

  • Follow Renewal Parts team OTR processes and support expediting and On-time Delivery (OTD) metrics.

  • Support and coordinate supplier discussions, inquiries, and POs; proactively drive opportunities for further improvement in Parts Revenue & Margin expansion.

  • Review various commercial specifications, POs, and Quotes from suppliers and customers to identify & manage risks, monitor financial and operational performance, and initiates corrective action where appropriate and escalate project delays and resource conflicts for resolutions to lead project managers and leadership.

  • Support Urgent Order Entry requests – create new customers, complete credit checks, review, and book orders, coordinate with finance & accounting department.

  • Develop Renewal Parts operations report periodically pertaining to quotes, customers, suppliers, project management, and market data analysis using Power BI (or Tableau) or equivalent tools.

  1. Global Logistics and Shipping Solutions Support
  • Develop Logistics solutions and resolve issues for the transportation of completed Parts and equipment among customers and suppliers by 1) adhering to customs and international trade compliance and regulations, 2) leading customs broker management, and 3) providing consultations and trainings to address logistics/shipping challenges.
  1. PO Administration, Procurement, & Supply Chain Management
  • Work closely with Project Managers and other staff to create/revise purchase orders (POs) in SAP Fusion, upload/update communication regarding orders into SAP Fusion and in-house customer order tracking system (COTS)

  • Reconcile invoices - work with Accounting and Project Managers to review and resolve any invoicing discrepancies.

  • Maintain Approved Vendor List for the local site – update, extend, and create new suppliers in our Vendor Management System.

  • Maintain inventory and order office supplies for the site.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Customer management or Business operations or Supply Chain management

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in following areas: project management, managing customer contracts, Purchase order administration, Global Logistics and Shipping Management

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in electrical & mechanical manufacturing industry
