Nuclear Fuel Services Nuclear Fuel Bundle Assembly Operator in Peterborough, Ontario

Production Operator

We are currently seeking a Production Operator to support our Peterborough team.

Responsibilities:

Production:

  • Operate various machinery such as: End Closure Weld, Tack and Braze, Punch Press, Beryllium Coat, Cut to Length, Sort and Stack and Bundle Assembly Weld.

  • Learn to operate machines, equipment, and computers.

  • Keep up with high-speed equipment and/or production demand.

    Quality:

  • Strict adherence to prescribed procedures.

  • Ensure high quality output.

  • Take preventative action.

    Safety Awareness:

  • Strict adherence to Job Safety Hazard Analysis, Ontario Health & Safety Act & Regulations and all Plant Safety Rules/Protocols.

  • Identify safety issues and concerns.

  • Take corrective action; monitor the corrective action.

  • Communicate all health and safety concerns to Supervisor and EHS.

    Technical and Professional Knowledge:

  • Understand technical terminology and developments.

  • Know how and when to apply a technical skill or procedure.

  • Perform complex tasks in area of expertise.

    Managing Work:

  • Prioritize.

  • Leverage resources.

  • Stay focused.

    Applied Learning:

  • Learn to use a computer to input or retrieve information.

    Energy:

  • Meet demanding productivity goals.

  • Perform repetitive work without losing effectiveness.

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 graduate

  • Valid class ‘G’ driver’s license

  • Experience with operating machines/equipment in an automated manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated team player

  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft office

  • Experience in Nuclear industry is an asset

  • Community College Diploma in related technical subjects is an asset.

    Selected applicants will be tested and interviewed.

    The base hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $34.03 - $37.81 per hour. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
