Job Title: Part Time Logistics Team Leader (12 months fix term contract)
Salary: £15.22 per hour
Location : Peterborough
Benefits:
Annual leave – Pro rata per year, depending on start date
Up to 5% Bonus – Pro rata, depending on start date
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%
Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution.

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
This secondment role will give the successful candidate greater in-depth experience dealing with the people management aspect of an important leadership role including management of direct reports and all associated systems i.e Kronos/Workday/Occupational health what are needed to support our wider team whilst managing a tactical operational area within Logistics.

This is a 12-months fix term role.
This is part time weekend role with working hours 5:45am till 4pm Saturday and Sunday, or Saturday/Sunday as single shift
The role will cover working 3 out of 4 weekends (60 hours per month)
100% on site
Start date TBC
Training potentially could be over the weekend or weekdays
What You Will Do
People
Support and manage on-site team
Mentor / Train team members
Conduct returns to work interviews liaising with HR and OH as required.
Administer Kronos for the team.
Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels, departments, and key groups within the business
Complete Gemba / Waste walks /Standard Work Audits
Develop and implement safe working & 5S practices within Logistics areas
Drive individual personal development plans
Quality
Understand operational logistics processes.
Ensure team members are adhering to SWI’s
Identify Quality, staffing, safety and product issues, Escalating to the appropriate persons.
CI Cards – Encourage TMs to raise CI cards, Responsible for generating working CI cards, logs onto CI system & follow the close out process.
Participate in process improvement dialogues
Velocity
Enable the team to do their work and achieve PQVC targets.
Show a sense of urgency and set priority for internal Logistics workload
Review reports on key performance indicators and address accordingly.
Manage own time to ensure optimum throughput.
Manage issues impacting velocity and reports improvement ideas.
Flexibility to support other Logistics functions
Cost
Support the effective control of resources within the value stream
Utilise Waste walks to eliminate waste
Continuously Improve the efficiencies of the team members
Review Budget control with the Logistics manager regularly
What You Have
Essential Strong people management skills
Knowledge of the operational logistics processes
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent PC skills including, MS Office, EE, MES and ETQ
Extensive experience within the logistics operational environment
