DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Project Manager to join our team specialising in Engineering for our Alternator Business in Peterborough, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Project Management Expertise: Utilise your expertise in project management to lead multiple projects on STAMFORD and AvK products globally covering PPT, PPP, VPI and VPC projects at varying levels of complexity and size. Your ability to manage, develop, and implement projects will directly contribute to successful outcomes.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead multiple projects from start to finish. Facilitate planning sessions with internal stakeholders to define project scope and objectives. Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish performance goals and design project plans.

  • Timeline and Milestone Tracking: Develop project timelines and identify key milestones. Regularly track progress against performance goals and timelines. Effective tracking ensures timely completion and alignment with project objectives.

  • Issue Resolution: Be proactive in identifying and tracking project issues. Collaborate with team members to resolve challenges promptly. Effective communication about project status is crucial for transparency and problem-solving.

  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets closely. Conduct research and analysis to optimise resource allocation. Your financial acumen will contribute to cost-effective project execution.

  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks. Use quality tools to assess potential areas of risk. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to find alternatives or solutions, ensuring project success.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Document and share team learnings. Draw on experiences from other project teams to enhance your projects. This collaborative approach fosters continuous improvement.

  • Resource Allocation and Coaching: Assign appropriate resources to project tasks. Guide and coach team members throughout various project stages. Providing developmental feedback contributes to team growth and project success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Project Issue and Risk Management: Identify, assess, and prioritise issues and risks using recommended tools and disciplines. Drive actions to minimise, monitor, and control risks or issues to maximise positive outcomes by proactively addressing challenges.

  • Project Resource Management: Develop resource plans (expense and headcount) using project management tools and effectively manage resources to support project goals.

  • Project Scope Management: Manage project deliverables (scope) using recommended tools and ensure the project includes necessary work and nothing extraneous. Maintain project files, adhere to processes and demonstrate a good understanding of Cummins project management and STAMFORD AvK products.

  • Leadership and Communication: Communicate with project teams, influence without direct reporting, and provide updates to CGT leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
