About the Role:

This is a key role within the account team providing commercial and contractual management to Cluster/Sub-regional Operations Managers.

The account is split into sub-regions; Greater China, North Asia (Korea & Japan), South East Asia, Pacific and South Asia (India & Bangladesh).

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the operation to delivery high quality finance and commercial advice to the operational leadership. It is expected the position holder will have very little day to day supervision as there is an emphasis on self-starting and pro-active management to attain the expected outcomes; the ability to prioritise workload and being able to work to deadlines is a major requirement as is the ability to meet client expectations.

Working in a matrix organisation the role needs to be able to balance the requirements at a local level whilst also ensuring regional standards and processes are adhered to; good communication is a must to ensure that all parties understand deliverables and obligations.

A strong relationship with the operation leaders is a key requirement as is the ability to understand how operational decisions impact the finance and commercial obligations on the account, there is an expectation that this role will form part of the regional management team and be involved in all aspects of decision making which influence the operational outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with Regional Finance Manager to ensure tight finance control is maintained throughout the regions

  • Support the contractual and commercial relationship with the client at country level

  • Fully understand the contractual obligations through the Master Services Agreement, ensure that correct accounting treatments are in place to reflect CBRE’s obligations.

  • Ensure all planed and forecast targets are achieved, Trade Working Capital targets are met and cash is collected in a timely manner

  • Be the sounding board to the operational leads for all commercial and operational matters

  • Support calculation, consolidation and delivery of planning and forecasting packs where required

  • Drive consistent performance in financial execution across all countries, auditing and implementation of best practice

  • Support the delivery of account wide finance related processes

  • Pro-actively drive the savings targets through working with, and active financial leadership across the operational teams, encourage continuous improvement in the operation

  • Own and ensure adherence to the change control process, provide guidance to the operations teams through the regional structure

  • Deliver timely client budgeting, forecasts and reconciliations of actuals

  • Portray a thoroughly credible and professional image to the customer at all levels, at all times.

  • Continuously develop and improve the output of the role

  • Ad hoc reporting and duties when required

  • Take ownership of all accounting & financial matters on the account

  • Annual budget process

  • Quarterly and monthly forecast

  • Reporting and analysis for variances / gaps against budget

  • Business reviews

  • Month-end closing accuracy timeliness

  • Manage CBRE’s financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet): review monthly deferred revenue schedules, journal entry accruals, budget vs. actual variance analyses, risk/opportunity tracking, etc.

  • Ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of all financial processes

  • Process compliance – ensure P2P process is well managed and executed

  • Manage Billing to Collection process – ensure billings get issued on time and collected

  • Audit and risk mitigation

  • Client Baseline and Budget

  • Contract Change Control

  • Audit check points and compliance

  • Understanding fully contractual obligations and associated KPIs

  • Drive continuous performance improvements

  • Drive CBRE initiatives and growing capabilities within account

  • Financial and commercial advice to the Operations Manager and the account leadership

  • As finance representative for APAC to interface with broader account regional teams as well as global teams

  • Collaborate with regional, sub-regional/country account team and platform team across all Line of Business (GWS, Projects and Advisory)

About you:

  • Qualified accountant and member of recognised accounting organisation

  • Advanced numerate & analytical skills aligned to good presentation and enhanced spreadsheet skills

  • Experience of working within multi country environment and within a cross functional organisation essential

  • Experience of planning and forecasting within a multi $m organisation

  • Knowledge of FM markets, pharma or life science market experience an advantage, understanding of commercial models and the requirements of managing to an expected outcome

  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity

  • Fluency in written and spoken English with other languages a benefit

  • Thinks strategically - ability to bring together seemingly disparate ideas, areas, products, to create new solutions
