Capricorn Test Manager (12 Months Fixed Term) in Perth, Australia

Role Purpose

The Test Manager will manage a team of Test analysts to execute fit for purpose solutions to meet business requirements. Adhering to good coding practice and the Architecture Principles, the Test Manager will ensure the Test Team meets the agreed project outcomes as defined by the Business Analysts.

The Test Manager is the custodian for the Test processes adopted at Capricorn. This may be a hybrid of Agile and Waterfall as determined for each body of work or system category.

From time to time, The Test Manager may assist the Solution Architect to produce technical specifications for custom development and systems integration as required. The role will also produce Test Script documents to match solution design specifications.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture & distributed enterprise applications i.e. Microservices.

Good understanding of relational databases (SQL Server).

Good knowledge and understanding of Web Service & API's for integration purposes.

Knowledge of building native mobile applications i.e. iOS and Android.

Knowledge of good DevOps practices.

Be able to demonstrate the ability for putting your hand up for new challenges, and able to upskill yourself in unfamiliar business domains.

Must be client focused and able to communicate at a business level. Able to discuss technical matters with non-technical people.

Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into technical designs.

Experience in managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.

Solid understanding of the full development lifecycle.

Thought leadership in emerging web design technologies, web design integration, prototyping, database driven content and web-based user interfaces

Ability to keep cool under pressure.

Good problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in team-oriented environments.

Experience

Demonstrate Experience in leading and mentoring small teams of 3 or more Test analysts (>3 years)

Demonstrable hand on experience developing on large technology projects with >3 years advanced experience with .NET systems configuration and custom development.

Experience with enterprise data integration tools i.e. ETL.

Experience in front-end JS frameworks i.e. Angular, React, bootstrap, Web Pack.

Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile (Scrum) project methodologies.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
