The role and what we are looking for

This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities from a large, existing customer base; and retaining existing business by adding value to the customers through the provision of a proactive and personalised account management experience for the Capricorn Mutual product and insurance broking side of our business. The Mutual product is kind of like insurance, but different. Think of it as an alternative to insurance!

Key Accountabilities:

• Promote the organisation's products, services, and events to ensure sales and budget requirements are met.

• Conduct renewal activity as required and in line with agreed timelines and service levels

• Renew Capricorn Mutual Limited (CML) Members protections and promote other insurance services offered by Capricorn Insurance Services (CIS).

• Ensure up to date knowledge of all CIS approved insurance products and CML protection products is maintained and understood

• Proactively identify, support, and assist Members who need to make a complaint and manage that complaint in line with the risk division complaints procedures and the RG271 internal dispute resolution requirements.

• Actively interact with CSL Area Managers to build relationships and develop a strong network of key contacts and associates.

• Follow up referred leads in a timely manner

• Ensure daily activities are loaded accurately and in a timely fashion into required systems to ensure follow up of activities and tasks.

• Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts and legal demands and align with ethical standards and principles

• Adherence to Capricorn's Code of Conduct. The code provides the standards for appropriate ethical and professional behaviour.

• Operate in accordance with our Values of Accountability, Courage, Collaboration and Trust, which provide the foundation for How We ACCT.

• Comply with Capricorn requirements, policies and procedures at all times, including Work Health & Safety system standards.

• Create and maintain a safe and inclusive work environment for self and others.

Capabilities required:

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

• An ASIC RG146 tier 1 insurance accreditation

• Sales and territory management experience

• Insurance experience.

• Have an interest in and the ability to travel to regional areas several times a year, including overnight stays and be able to attend trade shows throughout the year.

• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Consistent approach to ensuring accuracy and detail of documentation.

• High level of interpersonal and customer relations skills.

• Business awareness and commercial acumen.

• Strength in sales and marketing activities.

• Ability to achieve results and work to KPI's

This is a field and home-based role, therefore the ability to Territory Manage and have excellent Time Management and organisation skills is a must as you will be on the road most days.
