The FES will serve as Agency Ambassadors and will have knowledge of all aspects of the Agency. The FES engages and supports parents as child care consumers to help them make informed choices regarding the services that best suit their needs through multiple forms of communication and approaches. In addition to child care supports, the FES provides resources and referrals to meet other needs identified by parents/caregivers such as but not limited to; developmental screening services, Head Start/Early Head Start programs, and Public Assistance Programs. The FES will conduct 15-20 per quarter walk-in ASQ assessment screenings and an additional 50 ASQ assessment screenings via Books, Balls and Blocks (BBB) events for a total of 100 screenings per year.FES:• Provides consumer education and information to parents in all aspects of the agency - intake, FCCeligibility resource and referral, and quality units.• Ensures staff are knowledgeable and familiar with community resources and referrals for parents and families.o Makes appropriate referrals and links families to community serviceso Educates families about the full diversity of providers and the benefit of selecting high quality programs, including free public pre-k, Head Start Programs and Family Child Care Programs.o Ensures referrals are documented and tracked in WLS Identifies and maintains a list of active Early Head and Head Start Programs. Make referrals to active Early Head and Head Start Programs. Identifies and maintains a list of active State Public Pre-School Programs.FES has knowledge of and shares information regarding:o Child care services and accessing services, including policieso Information that promotes, educates and informs the public and child care communityabout high-quality and encourages providers to strive for high-quality child care.o The full diversity of child care providerso How to obtain an application and other important formso How and where to file a complainto How to connect to and access other programs and community resources, such aso SNAP, WIC, Early Invention, Early Head and Head Start, Home Visitation, etc.
