BIG TOP MANUFACTURING Laser Operator Assistant in Perry, Florida

[The Laser Operator Assistant is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term production objectives laid down by the Laser Supervisor. This position requires near perfect attendance and punctuality. Employees are expected to be in their department area before the shift starts. Reasonable overtime hours may be required to meet production needs.This position reports directly to the Laser Supervisor.

  • Ensure all parts are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Assist in all operations of Laser Department (banding, bundling, cutting, drawing, and painting of parts).
  • Load/unload materials onto the laser table.
  • Read and check complex sketches before building the parts. Report errors to supervisor for correction.
  • Verify the tube size matches the sketch before running.
  • Accurately count the number of pieces ran.
  • Assist with paperwork in Laser Department.
  • Operate Tube Laser Machine and ArTube CAD Program (on-the-job training provided).
  • Assist in drawing and developing new parts and programs.
  • Minimize material waste.
  • Responsible for care and daily preventive maintenance of the equipment in use.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report violations, accidents and near misses to supervisor.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel on safety, production, and quality standards and procedures.
  • Follow instructions given by supervisor.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in your area and the entire facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Player.

Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Must obtain forklift certification within 3 months (on-the-job training provided).

Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16".

Requires the use of hand tools. Must understand usage and applicability.
