TIG Welder
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and building custom parts through cutting, measuring, fabrication, and welding. The ability to use a foot pedal to control heat and produce a uniform, clean weld is essential.
Responsibilities
Read and understand blueprints to build custom parts.
Perform cutting, measuring, fabrication, and TIG welding of parts.
Use a foot pedal to control the heat during welding.
Operate and maintain hand tools and basic forming/machining equipment, including angle grinders, drills, air-tools, roll-form, pan-brake, drill press, and band saw.
Weld in a variety of positions and directions, including up and down.
Weld materials of various thicknesses, from 14-ga to ½” or ¾”.
Weld a variety of joints, including fillet, butt, thick-to-thin, and round tube joints.
Pulse the foot-pedal to create the “stack-of-dimes” weld appearance while minimizing heat transfer.
Understand and apply back-gassing with Argon during welding.
Fabricate with SS materials, ensuring proper handling, clamping, and preparation.
Pay attention to detail to build weldments accurately, according to print and tolerance, and test-fit as needed.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in TIG welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience in fabrication and machine setup.
Skilled in operating hand tools and basic forming/machining equipment.
Ability to weld in various positions and directions.
Experience with welding different material thicknesses and joints.
Proficient in using a foot pedal to control welding heat.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of back-gassing with Argon.
Experience in fabricating with SS materials.
Attention to detail and ability to work accurately according to prints and tolerances.
Hand tools operation & safety training, including angle grinders, drills, and air-tools for polishing welds and prepping materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00
