A Brief Overview\ \ The Internal Audit Compliance Specialist performs internal audits to assist with independently evaluating the Bank\'s adherence to specific areas of compliance. Such areas could include regulatory compliance, specifically CRA, fair lending, UDAAP and BSA; ACH, Trust, Human Resource/Payroll or other targeted compliance programs. Evaluates the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Bank\'s practices as well as adherence to Bank policies and procedures, industry standards, and regulations. Internal Audit Compliance Specialists are part of the Internal Audit Department of the Risk Management division where the primary focus is helping to protect the Bank against undue risk exposure.\ \ What you will do
- Plan and conduct specialized audits of the Bank\'s fair lending, CRA, HMDA, BSA, HR compliance, ACH, and Trust programs, as well as other areas as assigned. This will include gathering data through a variety of methods including interviews, research, etc. and documenting relevant information to support the internal audit conclusions and recommendations.
- Develop a clear understanding of the Bank\'s lending context as it relates to compliance and fair lending risks by regularly analyzing the Bank\'s scoring systems, strategic priorities, lending trends, external influences, complaints, current regulatory focus, and previous examination findings.
- Prepare internal audit reports for presentation to Internal Audit leadership, auditees, senior management, and the Audit Committee. Reports are to include the results of the internal audit objectives and scope as well as applicable conclusions, recommendations, and action plans. Communications must be accurate, objective, clear, concise, constructive, complete, and timely.
- Assist the Compliance Officer in preparing for external regulatory examinations and/or audits.
- Stay up-to-date on fair lending laws, regulations, agency guidance, and industry best practices, including, but not limited to, ECOA, FHA, HMDA, CRA, HR, ACH, and Trust.
- Maintain sufficient independence from Bank management to clearly demonstrate objectivity.
Other Qualifications/Requirements
- Proficient in use of automated fair lending software.
- Bachelors Degree Business and Minimum 5 Years Bank compliance and/or Internal Audit Preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CRCMP - Certified Risk And Compliance Professional CRCM or equivalent certification Preferred
