With minimal supervision, repairs and maintains machinery, plumbing, electrical wiring, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, preventative maintenance and operates gas/arc-welding and machine tool equipment.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Be subject matter expert on all aspects of plant infrastructure, production equipment, and operations
Develop work plans for non-standard facilities work
Develop work templates for standard work supporting LEAN methodologies
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical equipment using an analytical step-by-step process, standard maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
Provide technical guidance and assistance as needed in the installation or rearrangement of production equipment, as well as general coaching to peers
Assist in on-the-job training activities of assigned processes
Perform preventative maintenance on all aspects of plant infrastructure and equipment
Responsible for repairing and returning equipment to service status
Execute work plans for non-standard facilities work
Perform standard work supporting lean methodologies
Repair electro-mechanical equipment using an analytical step-by-step process, standard maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
Actively participate in various technical and continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in various EHS and ergonomic assessments of assigned processes
Responsible for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities related to plant operations
Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs and general maintenance as needed in an industrial environment
Independently execute planned work assignments; perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision
Assist team members when necessary in the general maintenance and operation of manufacturing processes, infrastructure, and grounds
Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
Scope materials and parts required to support equipment repairs and preventative maintenance efforts.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and locates causes of trouble, identifies and performs required repair/maintenance
Dismantles devices to gain access and remove defective/faulty equipment parts
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
Adjusts functional parts of devices and other operational equipment
Repairs or replaces defective parts
Installs necessary functional and structural parts in devices and other equipment
Lubricates, cleans, and performs preventive maintenance on parts/equipment
Starts devices to test their performance and performs necessary adjustments
Operate a man lift, forklift, and articulated boom lift
Perform maintenance service and repair in the areas of rotating equipment, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing in an industrial environment
Print reading, precise measurements, machine tool set-up, alignment, and industrial mathematics
Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics; Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards
Work from verbal instructions as well as blueprints, and/or working drawings
Scope materials and parts required for installations and repairs
Quickly assess the work to be performed and complete the task safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
Use thorough understanding of electrical controls systems, schematics, AC and DC motors controls and drives, control logic and/or thorough understanding of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and inspection techniques (if specialized in mechanical maintenance)
Diagnose equipment electro-mechanical failures using the OEM troubleshooting guides
Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed
Maintains work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts
Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices; Adhere to industrial codes and standard procedures (ANSI, NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
Qualifications/Requirements:
Associates Degree in electrical / electronic engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, industrial electronic technology, or comparable content degree program OR High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a heavy industrial environment performing electronic and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
Minimum 5 years of experience in production equipment maintenance
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Willing and able to work any shift
Willing and able to work emergency call-in repairs, holidays, weekends, and overtime on request and short notice
Willing and able to work on elevated platforms and/or high places
Hold a valid driver’s license
Must be able to lift and carry at least 33 lbs and push and pull at least 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 95% of the shift with or without reasonable accommodation
Must pass background and drug screens
Must pass NOCTI test; may only test once in a 12-month rolling period
Desired Characteristics :
Use and learn Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams and maintenance information systems
Associates Degree in electrical / electronic engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, industrial electronic technology
Experienced industrial licensed electrician (if specialized in electrical maintenance)
Overhead bridge crane inspection, crane maintenance, and crane repair experience
Strong VFD, PLC, Drives knowledge
3-Phase 480 Volt Electrical experience
Strong electro-mechanical knowledge
Welding Skills
Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards required
Working knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance requirements, rigging, emergency response, LOTO, industrial codes and standard procedures (ANSI, NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
Ability to read engineering drawings including assembly and wiring documents
Working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Excel
Experience using maintenance system; familiar with Maximo CMMS work order system
Assist team members on Maximo maintenance tasks
Demonstrated knowledge of Maintenance Operations, Quality, Safety, Shop computer systems and Shop Support Requirements
Strong mechanical aptitude, electrical aptitude, and knowledge of plant industrial operations
Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Systems such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP, CMMS purchasing systems
Knowledge and experience from multiple workstations within assigned production line
Follow and promote safe work practices
Strong project management skills; ability to plan, lead, organize, and control multiple priorities
Self-starter, high energy team player with a desire for continuous improvement
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside of the company
Effective problem identification and solution skills
