THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for managing an automotive parts and tools storeroom, ensuring that garage personnel have controlled access to necessary repair parts and specialized tools throughout the Winter Maintenance Program. This includes maintaining established inventory levels of frequently used items such as filters, belts, equipment components, fittings, hoses, hardware, fluids, tires, and other maintenance supplies. You will also oversee the storage, issuance, and control of specialized equipment utilized by garage staff in their duties. Based on usage data, you will recommend adjustments to reorder points or additional purchases to the Equipment Manager, prepare requisition forms for parts room items, and monitor their status. Additionally, you will receive, inspect, and either accept or reject stockroom items, recommend vendor invoice payments, and ensure consumable products are stored in a controlled manner. Maintaining accurate inventories and controlling the issuance of materials and supplies is essential, as is operating a forklift to unload delivery trucks and transport large inventory items while keeping the work area clean and organized for safe and efficient operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Winter hours 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM. or 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Work hours are subject to change due to weather/season

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
