THE POSITION

In this essential position, you will oversee, coordinate, and manage various maintenance operations for highways and bridges within the Washington County Maintenance Organization. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will employ sound engineering practices and principles to oversee all stages of seasonal highway maintenance work for an assigned region within a county maintenance organization. You will monitor productivity and quality to ensure that operations are carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will develop a long-term strategic plan for your assigned geographic area to support the overall long-term objectives of the organization. You will also complete roadway inventories for all roads within your assigned geographic area using the most recent roadway inventory form provided by the Roadway Programs Coordinator. Furthermore, you will apply engineering principles when prioritizing roadway needs within your assigned geographic area and develop candidate lists for each type of Surface Improvement category performed within the County.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists ; or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
