Vail Resorts Senior Analyst, Ski & Ride School Analytics in Pennsylvania

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE – ANALYTICS & INSIGHTS

The Analytics & Insights (A&I) team’s purpose is to empower data-driven decision making and strategic innovation for the Vail Resorts Enterprise. POSITION PURPOSE – SENIOR ANALYST

As the Senior Analyst of Ski & Ride School Analytics, you will lead strategy and financial analyses to support revenue growth strategies, forecasting, and performance insights for the Ski & Ride School business. You will use Vail Resorts’ proprietary data to generate insights about guest behaviors that drive value for the business. This individual should demonstrate ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence. In this role, you will be required to analyze large data sets and provide insights with actionable and concise recommendations. You will also be expected to demonstrate learning agility and drive to take on new topics or projects.

  • The budgeted range starts at $74,100 - $96,465 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • [Performance Analysis & Reporting] Design and develop reporting for executive and Marketing stakeholders; leverage reporting to generate business performance insights

  • [Strategic Analysis] Analyze historical data and evolving trends to support strategic planning; this may include, for example, identifying and sizing opportunities to grow guest capture into the Ski & Ride School business

  • [Presentation] Communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear, concise fashion to stakeholders

  • [Prioritization] Communicate frequently and effectively with your manager to prioritize projects across a wide range of initiatives and stakeholders

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated success in analytical or financial roles

  • Minimum 2-4 years previous experience in analytics, consulting, finance, or other similar field

  • Demonstrated success wrangling, querying, curating, and deriving insights from large datasets

  • Experience with analytic tools/software such as SQL, Snowflake, or other similar programs

  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (Tableau or similar)

  • Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate across multiple functions within an organization

Preferred:

  • Experience with programming languages like Python or R, or data analysis tools like Alteryx, SPSS, or Knime

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,100 - $96,465 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
