THE POSITION

Would you like to use your analytical skills to ensure retailer compliance to Pennsylvania Lottery policies and procedures? The Department of Revenue is actively seeking an ambitious Revenue Research Analyst 2 to join our team. Your work will play a vital role in maintaining the security and integrity of gaming activity within the Pennsylvania Lottery. Apply today for this next step in your professional career.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The focus of this position is to support the broad objectives of the Pennsylvania Lottery Security Division with a heavy focus on fieldwork, ensuring the division with the needed agility to respond to urgent security and compliance concerns at retailers. Work includes traveling to lottery retailer locations throughout an assigned region of Pennsylvania to conduct compliance and security-related site visits. Ensuring retailer compliance by research, analysis, and interview will be essential. You will have the opportunity to gather and analyze information pertaining to gaming activities, write and submit summary reports of findings, and follow established tracking and reporting systems to ensure uniform handling of violations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

  • Full-time telework status employees are required to work in-office once per month.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Revenue Research Analyst 1;or

  • One year of managerial experience in a major tax system which involved the receipt or the examination of tax returns or the enforcement of tax rules and regulations;or

  • Two years of experience in systems analysis and/or operations research which included one year in the analysis of tax systems and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in courses involving the use of quantification techniques applicable to systems analysis and operations research such as statistics, systems analysis, mathematical model building, algebra, calculus, operations research, quantitative research design, economic analysis, computer science, or any other quantifiable course work. Appropriate graduate study may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must have three or more years of previous law enforcement, Security, or retail loss prevention experience.

  • You must have Microsoft Office experience and capable of learning new, proprietary lottery systems.

  • You must be able to travel in the Commonwealth as assigned.

  • You must possess a current driver's license which is not under suspension.

  • This position will be required to travel in the Western Area. Candidate must reside in Allegheny, Butler or Armstrong County. Relocation is not an option.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
