JBT Corporation Product Manager – Software & Control Architecture in Pennsylvania, United States

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager with a strong background in software productization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, with an emphasis on software products. Experience in robotics or industrial automation is a big added value, as there is a strong interaction between the software stack and the underlying control architecture. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. The product manager role will be tasked by identifying customer needs and turning that vision into a reality. You will focus on delivering standardized products and product capabilities for JBT Automated Systems. The product manager will be a central figure within the organization and will be able to collaborate with all the company’s stakeholders: from supporting sales and marketing to collaborating with engineering, R&D, legal, supply chain, and manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the AGV software and underlying control architecture, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs. Market Research: Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Utilize this information to inform product development. Product Development: Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure successful product development and delivery. Collaborate with legal department to protect intellectual property of the developed product line. Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, and promotional plans. Stakeholder Management: Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders, including senior management, sales, marketing, and customer support teams. Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure customer satisfaction. Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and inform future product decisions. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve product offerings. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. PMP certification is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on software productization. Experience in robotics or automation is highly desirable. Skills: Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Ability to lead a fast-prototyping new product development agenda Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong Project management capabilities and reporting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software development tools and platforms (Git). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus. Experience with tools like JIRA, Smartsheet or Microsoft Project, PLMs Must be able to travel up to 50% - occasional international travel. Why work at JBT ...
