THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Manager 1, you will oversee the continuity of nursing care and services for individuals with physical and mental illnesses. You will ensure that all medical, psychiatric, and nursing regimes provide optimum care and treatment for patients . This will involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating all nursing services operations; collaborating with peers to maintain consistency of care; and promoting quality improvement of nursing services. Additionally, you will supervise staff, review training needs, and evaluate effectiveness of work performance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.

  • Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with an on-call rotation, occasional weekend or holiday coverage may be necessary, may change based on operational needs, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Overtime as needed.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. 2nd shift receives a $1.25 per hour pay differential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (commonwealth titles) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; or

  • Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration. A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability.

    Special Requirements:

  • All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

    Other Requirements:
