DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role serves as a Fiscal Management Specialist within the State and Special Funds Unit of the Bureau of Fiscal Management, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities related to budget preparation, analysis, monitoring, and personnel functions associated with the General Government Operations appropriation. This appropriation is crucial as it finances the operations of the Secretary’s Office, Deputy’s Offices, and various administrative programs within the department, as well as the Vector Management appropriations and the Environmental Education Fund. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing accounting support to the Bureau of Fiscal Management by reviewing and correcting errors related to the invalid SAP coding postings associated with agency purchasing card transactions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1; or

  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
