DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The individual occupying this role plays a crucial part in supporting the Energy Programs Office's (EPO) Energy Security initiative, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance situational awareness and ensure emergency preparedness concerning electric transmission and distribution planning and resilience, along with liquid fuel preparedness. This role entails a commitment to maintaining compliance with the U.S. Department of Energy's stipulations associated with the State Energy Security Plan, as mandated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
In addition, this position emphasizes the need to address the specific requirements for electric transmission and distribution planning, as well as the essential energy security components outlined in our State Energy Security Plan. The individual will also work closely with private industry stakeholders, while fostering collaboration with other agencies, including the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and project management.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues, and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or
Three years of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues and a bachelor's degree; or
A master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
