THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Driver License Center Supervisor to supervise a group of driver license examiners and other staff at our license center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position involves overseeing a team of Driver License Examiners and staff at a Driver License Center. This includes tasks such as creating work schedules, conducting performance appraisals, approving leave requests, reviewing grievances, and making recommendations. Your responsibilities also include supervising the administration of knowledge and skills testing for both non-commercial and commercial driver licenses, including pre-trip and driving tests. Additionally, you will be supervising the examination of various motor vehicles for inspection stickers, lights, windshield wipers, and other mechanical features.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.

  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Overtime and travel required

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner (commonwealth title); or

  • Two years of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (commonwealth title); or

  • Three years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

    Special Requirements:

  • This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.

  • This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
