DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, your main responsibility will be to efficiently and safely manage traffic signal operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for designing signals and layouts that are tailored to the unique characteristics of each location. This will involve analyzing data on crashes, capacity, geometry, and traffic volume. You will also be involved in developing final signal plans, special provisions, and construction estimates. Additionally, you will review design plans, intersection channelization, and markings, and inspect signal installations to ensure they meet the required standards. You will coordinate equipment testing and prepare control permits, as well as respond to inquiries and process installation requests. Furthermore, you will conduct traffic studies and optimize signal timing, address complaints, and review project reports. Lastly, you will collaborate with municipalities and engineers on design plans.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of probationary period at the discretion of the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dunmore.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. or
Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements:
