Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Proposals Manager. This position offers the option for a hybrid setting or the ability to work fully in one of these offices: Bloomfield, NJ, Pennington, NJ, Blue Bell, PA, South Hamilton, MA, Bedford, MA, Acton, MA. This position will work with technical leads and marketing teams to support business development initiatives and achieve market growth. Oversee the process to develop compliant, comprehensive and compelling submittals (proposals and opportunity-specific statements of qualifications (SOQs)) in order to win profitable work. This role focuses on targeting appropriate messaging, identifying business development opportunities, facilitating business development strategy sessions, and training and mentoring consulting staff on marketing processes and initiatives. The Marketing and Proposals Manager will take a leadership role in facilitating Go-No-Go processes and developing marketing and branding strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Oversee staff involved in all aspects of the competitive proposal preparation - from pre-RFP positioning and client outreach to submittal planning, development, delivery, and post-award internal and client debriefs;
  • Work with the proposal teams to brainstorm and develop winning proposal themes and innovative methods to make them stand out, target messaging; prepare outlines; manage and coordinate technical contributors and schedule; and prepare non-technical sections of proposals;
  • Assist with interview and presentation preparation; create effective presentations and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients;
  • Seek and identify market-specific business development (BD) opportunities for the firm based on business intelligence related to markets, disciplines, and clients;
  • Oversee tracking of RFP calendars/business development opportunities via Client Relationship Management system (CRM);
  • In partnership with marketing teams, develop Go-No Go qualification decision matrices and champion and facilitate clear, informed and efficient Go/No Go decisions for proposals;
  • Provide and enforce Pink (early) and Red (final) Team reviews and pre-review of proposals, focusing on client benefits and differentiators, and participate in Red Team and mock panel reviews (as applicable);
  • Lead quality control efforts for BD processes and marketing campaigns and initiatives;
  • Assist or lead seller-doer proposal/SOQ/collateral training and mentoring activities;
  • Facilitate strategy "brainstorming" and story-boarding sessions to develop winning technical approaches and identify differentiators for marketing campaigns and pursuits/proposals;
  • Work with Branch/Region Managers and technical teams to support targeted/strategic BD initiatives and research, support the planning and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns for the branch/region;
  • Support the development of associated marketing and practitioner BD plans; develop and conduct periodic marketing meetings w/ varied teams;
  • Evaluate and improve content/collateral library and determine gaps in information; work with Branch Managers and subject matter experts to identify potential key consulting partnerships to fill gaps;
  • Work with technical teams to develop marketing strategies and create marketing campaigns and materials such as flyers, brochures, and statements of qualifications to support targeted business development efforts;
  • Leverage local-region marketing and corporate marketing staff in managing routine marketing collateral (e.g., larger marketing task schedules and keeping resumes and project descriptions up to date);
  • Recommend events and industry organizations that branch/region should participate in;
  • Oversee trade show and special event planning, execution, and follow up - in tandem with corporate events staff;
  • Maintain internal communications program to facilitate information sharing within the branch/region/company; inform and involve principals and practitioners regarding marketing efforts;
  • Provide guidance for industry or professional association project awards nominations, including managing the development of submittal packages;
  • Identify research data needs related to clients; competitors; past, current, and prospective markets;
  • Manage marketing staff, including integration and training for marketing and seller-doers, assist the Senior Marketing and Proposals Manager (in coordination with regional and/or corporate leads) with marketing and proposals time allocation and budgeting; and
  • Assist in managing load-leveling for timely completion of marketing packages.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, environmental/engineering, or related field with eight (8) or more years of progressive professional experience in the marketing of professional services related to engineering, architecture, commercial construction, or legal services, an associate degree/college diploma and ten (10) years of experience, or twelve (12) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.   • Prior experience leading and overseeing proposal teams. (required)
  • Familiarity with graphic design and production, desktop publishing and presentation software. (required)
  • Experience with or understanding of the RFQ/RFP process, techniques associated with the evaluation of promotional activities, federal, state and local procurement procedures, and activities associated with the development and evaluation of marketing plans and their effectiveness. (required)
  • Ability to review marketing materials and correspondence that is well written and organized, clearly presented, focused on the subject at hand and furthers the Geosyntec "brand". (required)
  • Ability to create effective presentations and respond to inquiries from internal and external clients; and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. (required)
  • Ability to write in a marketing and/or journalistic manner including critical and analytical thinking about the purpose of the document and how the content may be improved. (required)
  • Familiarity with technical writing standards. (preferred)
  • Microsoft Windows proficiency including, MS Professional (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and Creative Suite products, and typing ability. (required)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workflow. (required)
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to perform effectively under tight deadlines. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
