Westchester Jewish Community Services PER DIEM CLINICIAN - MOBILE CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM (MCRT) in Peekskill, New York

Based in Peekskill, NY, our Mobile Crisis Response Team is an integral part of Westchester County’s Project Alliance, partnering with the police departments in Peekskill, Buchanan, Cortland, Croton-on-Hudson, and Yorktown to provide critical mobile crisis services. As a Per Diem Clinician, you’ll collaborate closely with a fellow clinician and/or Peer Specialist and local police, making a tangible impact in your community.

This position offers flexible scheduling of up to 20 hours per week, with shifts that include Saturdays from 2pm – 10pm, plus weekday days and evenings, holidays, shifts based on the team’s needs for mobile coverage.

In addition to a competitive salary range of $35/hour, you will receive specialized training and ongoing supervision from Licensed Clinicians, including hours toward LCSW.

Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Collaborating closely with the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, 988, catchment area Police Departments, delivering services to individuals who are in mental health crisis. This includes de-escalation, assessment and referral to help clients live safely and prevent future crisis.

  • Being a part of our cohesive team comprised of licensed clinicians, Peer Specialists, student intern and administrative assistant.

  • Following-up with clients up to 2 weeks after crisis response with aim to link client to appropriate services

    Requirements:

    We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Valid New York state LMSW (can work toward LCSW hours) or LMHC required.

  • NYS Driver’s License required.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

  • Experience with community-based services a plus.

  • Crisis intervention and response skills are beneficial

  • Strong work ethic - must work well independently and within a team environment, plus across systems.

  • Ability to collaborate and build/foster relationships with community partners, including police departments.

  • Strong verbal communication and written skills.
