Constellation Engineering Analyst OR Senior Analyst in Pearl River, New York

Analyst Level: Expected salary range of $84,600 to $94,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes commission and 401(k).

Senior Analyst Level: Expected salary range of $107,100 to $119,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes commission and 401(k).

Location

This is an on-site role, located at our Pearl River, New York facility, with a Monday – Friday standard schedule. Occasional overtime hours will be required, including some weekend work, for scheduled shutdowns and emergency coverage as needed.

Primary Purpose of Position

Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions and analyses. Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical and control systems with regard to power plant operations. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and is knowledgeable of applicable industry codes and regulations. Capable of managing third-party service providers including contractors, consultants. Works well across functional lines of Operations, Technicians and Management.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the maintenance and operations of large-scale facilities and centralized and distributed utility systems. Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple projects and tasks with a high level of proficiency; acute attention to detail is required. This position encompasses several responsibilities that will increase in breadth and scope which include:

  • Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities, programs and projects.

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems. (25%)

  • Perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles (15%)

  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications. (5%)

  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs. (10%)

  • Recommends equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. (10%)

  • Perform switching orders with Qualified Electricians in a Safe manner. (10%)

  • Accountable, ability to assist in off hour and weekend emergencies and scheduled shutdown work. (5%)

  • Ability to work in a CMMS system to add, update, and create work orders for equipment. (5%)

  • Coordinate and execute substation maintenance throughout the year.

  • Accountable for the electrical distribution and metering software program (Power Monitoring Expert, PME). (10%)

  • Accountable for all Utility Revenue grade metering throughout the complex.

Minimum Qualifications

Engineering Analyst Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Engineering Technology) and 3+ years of plant or related industry experience OR equivalent Combination of education and related engineering experience.

  • Understanding of Medium Voltage Systems (4160 and 13,200 volts) and their maintenance

  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, high pressure boilers, pumps, air compressors, electrical systems, control systems, and piping systems.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)

  • Ability to read and interpret underground utility drawings, one-line electrical diagrams, P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation) drawings, architectural, and mechanical drawings. Excellent teamwork and communications skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.

  • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license.

Engineering Senior Analyst Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Engineering Technology) and 5+ years of plant or related industry experience OR equivalent Combination of education and related engineering experience.

  • Understanding of Medium Voltage Systems (4160 and 13,200 volts) and their maintenance

Preferred Qualifications ( both levels )

  • Experience with preventative maintenance management software (CMMS).

  • Some experience with project coordination with various State and County regulatory agencies.

  • Central utility plant and Building Automation System (BAS) Controls System Experience.

  • Experience with chemical treatment and/or filtration systems.

  • Preparation of calculations, reports, specifications, and presentations.

  • Review of shop drawings and submittals.

  • Familiar with building codes, OSHA, and NFPA standards.

  • AutoCAD skills are a plus.

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or PE a plus.
