Overview
SOS International LLC (SOSi) seeks a Network Operations Deputy to join our team at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, HI. You'll assist in managing network operations, maintenance, and security, ensuring DoD compliance. Our team, based in Honolulu, Hawaii, creates, manages, and supports IT solutions for The customer, its mission, and its 5,000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. We tackle challenging technical problems critical to enabling the Customer’s realization of time sensitive C2 strategies.
Responsibilities
In your role as a Network Operations Deputy at SOS International LLC, you are instrumental in assisting the Network Operations Lead with MPE-ES Network Operations coordination. This includes providing planning and oversight within the MPE-ES Area-of-Responsibility (AOR). Working closely with the Network Operations Lead, you lead and direct a team of MPE-ES network administrators and technicians. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring network capabilities are consistently available, properly monitored, and maintained, all in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. You oversee various network components, such as LAN, BAN, WAN, telecommunications/transport protocols, Unified Communications/VoIP/Video Teleconferencing (VTC), WAN accelerators, load-balancers, firewalls, and cryptographic devices. Moreover, you function as the Network Operations Person-In-Charge when the Network Operations Lead is unavailable or away.
Lead and prioritize MPE-ES network assignments, coordinating internal and external resources
Supervise a team of network administrators and technicians, overseeing their training and performance assessment
Function as the point of incident escalation and manage prompt resolution of network-related incidents
Ensure continuous monitoring and communication of MPE-ES network status to leadership and relevant parties
Participate actively in MPE-ES engineering, analysis, and solution development, with a focus on proactive performance monitoring and issue resolution
Evaluate new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices to improve network capabilities
Assess and propose recommendations to enhance work processes and efficiency within MPE-ES
Validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) associated with relevant network technologies
Identify and validate Requests for Information (RFI’s) for MPE-ES management and Government customers
Contribute to network-relevant special projects to drive improvements and advancements
Qualifications
Active in-scope SECRET clearance
6+ years of experience in network administration and enterprise IT service center operations
DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
Possession of relevant IT certifications, including Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, or VMware
Comprehensive knowledge of IT network administration principles, troubleshooting, and support, including a strong understanding of the OSI model and network cable termination experience
Prior supervisory experience and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in networking, encompassing switching and routing protocols, installation, and configuration, with prior firsthand experience in Cisco and Brocade network solutions
Experience with TACLANE cryptographic devices
Expertise in implementing and supporting Unified Communications (UC) technologies, such as VoIP and Call Manager
Ability to work in 24/7 operations, including participation in exercises, when required
Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment while following instructions effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Possession of CCNA certification, demonstrating proficiency in Cisco networking
Extensive knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations
Demonstrated expertise in virtual infrastructure, VDI/thin-client, and VoIP deployments, including installation, troubleshooting, and support
Prior experience with Forcepoint, Juniper, and Palo Alto technologies is a significant advantage
Proficiency in Help Desk and software applications, such as Jira, Remedy, and ServiceNow
Awareness and familiarity with Command and Control (C2) applications
Knowledge or experience with the ITIL framework and ITIL best practices
