Commander, Navy Installations INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Responsibilities You will manage a computer network defense (CND) risk management program to ensure compliance with an organization's information technology (IT) policies. You will maintain information technology (IT) configurations to prevent information systems vulnerabilities. You will allocate information technology (IT) project resources (e.g., equipment, hardware, software) to meet IT requirements. You will resolve desktop configuration issues by troubleshooting operating systems. You will brief information technology (IT) users on operation of application and support software systems. You will document system failures to identify trends or problems with incompatible systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing the required documentation and obtaining accreditations for operational technology networks; 2) Developing guidance and procedures for implementing mandatory Cybersecurity Standards and determining adequate cybersecurity safeguards; 3) Providing cybersecurity training, consultation, and technical support as related to computer security; 4) Communicating orally and in writing sufficient to gather, analyze, and present factual data. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. PCS is not authorized. A forty-hour work week is typical of this position. This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers or books, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK ENVIRONMENT The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, and meeting and training rooms. The work is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
