Wencor Group Llc Director, Aviation Compliance in PEACHTREE CITY, Georgia

Overview of the Position:

Responsible for aviation regulatory compliance for Wencor Group and its subsidiaries. Functional responsibilities include Continuous Operational Safety (COS), Organization Designation Authorization (ODA), and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations. The Director of Aviation Compliance is a driver and leader who develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, practices, training, audit programs, documentation, and other activities to ensure aviation compliance across all Company operations while also supporting the business needs of the Company. This role sits at the corporate level and works closely with quality and compliance leads at the Company’s sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interface directly with aviation regulatory authorities and respond to requests, investigations, and inquires in a factual and timely manner.

  • Serve as the focal for cross-business Quality/Compliance issues to ensure consistent and effective compliance.

  • Chair the COS and MRO Compliance Committee meetings.

  • Oversee internal approvals for Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (Service Bulletins, Service Information letters, etc.).

  • Be a pro-active liaison with FAA Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO), Aircraft Certification Offices (ACO) and Manufacturing Inspection District Offices (MIDO) or equivalent to ensure FAA requirements are defined with procedures in place leading to an acceptable standing of our programs with the FAA.

  • Represent the Company in connection with industry associations focused on compliance and/or the Company’s product and service offerings.

  • Ensure awareness and pro-active flow down of new regulatory orders and regulations and ensure Company compliance.

  • Serve as the Company’s aviation compliance expert and advisor.

  • Act as the management representative for the ODA.

    Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Holding or having held an FAA delegated function (DER, DAR, DMIR, ODA Administrator) is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience in FAA CFR title 14 Regulations for COS and SMS..

  • Familiarity with FAA 14 CFR Part 21 production and design approval holder, Part 121 airline operations and Part 145 repair station operations.

  • Knowledge of Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and Designated Engineering Representatives repairs (DER) processes and requirements.

  • Understanding of FAA standard practices for communication and problem resolution.

  • Ability to understand and author highly technical/complex aviation documentation.

  • Holding or having held an FAA A/P License would be beneficial, but not required.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.

    Education / Experience Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or an aviation technical/quality field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, with approximately three years or more of management responsibility.

    Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
