Erickson Living Assistant Activities Manager in Peabody, Massachusetts

Our community is looking for an experienced Assistant Activities Manager/ Program Coordinator to help support our programming teams in Assisted Care, Memory Care, and Rehab neighborhoods. In this role, you will organize the delivery of therapeutic programming to meet the physical, intellectual, spiritual, creative, recreational, social and emotional needs and well-being of the residents residing in Continuing Care.

Person Centered Care Summary:

The Continuing Care team is committed to serving residents in all aspects of their daily lives and assisting with the day to day functioning of the neighborhood. Developing relationships with the residents and their families using a consistent caregiver approach; supporting the residents’ physical, spiritual, emotional and clinical needs and focusing on placing the residents first.

Clinical-Direct contact with residents:

Implement, supervise, and/or lead group and individual therapeutic and recreational activities. Interact directly with residents and family when able, to gather information for assessments, MDS and care plans. Educate staff and volunteers regarding residents’ abilities and limitations, psychosocial needs and therapeutic interventions during in-service training sessions and staff meetings.

Planning, designing, and preparing for activities and department duties:

Collaborate with Continuing Care staff in recruiting, training, monitoring volunteers for the activity program. Design and plan therapeutic and recreational activity programs using own skill areas of specialty. Determine the need for activity supplies, identify vendors, generate supply lists, order supplies, label and distribute supplies where needed. Indirectly supervise program department staff. Create and or monthly activity calendars to be displayed on each neighborhood and in each resident’s room. Participate in yearly budget planning process; identifying and justifying payroll and departmental supply needs. Coordinate resident entertainment, trips, and special events.

  • Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 - Depending on Experience

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Recreation / Activities / Programming experience or 3 years as an ESL Programming Assistant is required.

  • Experience leading groups of people with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence, and experience with the elderly is required.

  • Flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings is required.
